If there is a combination of flavors, a duo that defines me, that is banana and dulce de leche, but for you to understand why I say this we have to go back to my childhood, to when I was around 5 or 6 years old. At that time, my mother prepared the restaurant’s pastry in a kitchen that was located in the back of my house, and then they took it to the restaurant. She used to spend a lot of time there, so I too, I could say that I grew up in that kitchen. Matter that one afternoon, on a weekend, so there was nobody working there, mom could not find me, and she thought of looking for me in “La Cocinita” where she found me sitting in the hallway, in the dark, putting a banana in the 20-kilo pail of dulce de leche and with the whole face stained with dulce de leche! And so you could say that my love for this combination began that day haha.
Turning my favorite combination into a cake was a great success! This is definitely one of my favorite recipes on the blog. It may not be the most elaborate or gourmet, nor the healthiest, but it reminds me of childhood, it has many flavors that combined are pure perfection, it is super easy to make and makes those who taste it fall in love! At home it disappeared in less than 2 hours!!!
The pie is made up of 4 layers, it does not requires oven, you only need 6 ingredients, and surely you already have everything to make it or you can get it in the supermarket of the neighborhood.
The crust is made of ground cookies with butter to harden (you can use any vanilla cookie, the crunchier the better). The filling is (drum roll) DULCE DE LECHE AND BANANAS, YES, JUST THOSE INGREDIENTS BUT IT IS THE BEST FILLING IN THE WHOLE WORLD! And finally, we finish with a delicious vanilla cream with a little grated chocolate. And ta-da, a full-fledged bomb ready to eat in less than 20 minutes!

This dulce de leche, banana and cream pie only has 6 ingredients, no oven is needed to make it and is ready in less than 20 minutes!
- 2 cups vanilla cookies 200g
- 1/3 cup melted butter 80ml
- 3 Tbsp raw cane sugar
- 1 1/2 cups dulce de leche 500g
- 3 bananas
- 1 cup whipping cream 200ml
- 1/3 cup raw cane sugar 50g
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Grease a 20cm diameter round mold previously lined with parchment paper.
Process or grind the cookies by hand until you have a powder, add the melted butter and sugar, mix and put in the mold. Press well against the base and edges.
Cut the 3 bananas into 0.5cm wide slices. Fill the cake with 1/3 of the dulce de leche, add half of the banana slices, cover with 1/3 of the dulce de leche, bananas and cover with the remaining dulce de leche.
Beat the cream (it must be very cold) at high speed with the sugar and vanilla until whipped. Put on the pie, grate dark chocolate on top, cool and enjoy!
